The penicillidia or nicteríbido , is an ectoparasite of bats, despite its spider appearance, this is a blood sucking fly. They have completely lost their wing and do not measure more than 4 millimeters. Its body is hard and covered by a shell that protects it from being crushed by its host.

The elephant shrew, are small animals, with a long snout and long hind legs. They live on the ground and feed mainly on insects. All species of the order Macroscelidea inhabit the African continent. Its name of elephant shrew is due to the shape of its mouth in the form of a horn.
